1:01a one of these days my shift key will stop sticking
Work continues hectic. Coworker didn't make it in, but worked from home. Thank goodness for email and communicator.
I am left with little brain. Hope the release is over soon.

The Great Bird of Love
I want to become a great night bird Called The Zimmer, grow intricate gears And tendons, brace my wings on updrafts, Roll them down with a motion That lifts me slowly into the stars To fly above the troubles of the land. When I soar the moon will shine past My shoulder and slide through Streams like a luminous fish. I want my cry to be huge and melancholy, The undefiled movement of my wings To fold and unfold on rising gloom.
People will see my silhouette from Their windows and be comforted, Knowing that, though oppressed, They are cherished and watched over, Can turn to kiss their children, Tuck them into their beds and say: Sleep tight. No harm tonight, In starry skies The Zimmer flies.

12:21a language wobbling a little
Work being rather hectic, also rather being hectic, also hectic, rather, being. Cross-mapping coworker went home at lunchtime after a nasty fall, and I very much hope she'll be back in tomorrow, or I shall be finding it even more hectic.
The rain holds off for the moment -- at least, while I'm outside, which is what I selfishly regard as important.
Must go back in Library story to mention Dominic's curiously old-fashioned accent in the Language.

Would anyone be interested in buying a Princess Tutu shitajiki from me? Specifically, the one shown here (that's not my pic, though). It's in good condition, I never used it.
I was thinking maybe $10 + shipping? If anyone's interested feel free to haggle with me though. Please leave a comment if you're interested.
I'll ship anywhere in the world as long as buyer pays shipping costs, I prefer paypal, and ship from the US.
Cheers, Nozomi

7:59p Blogathon!
So, some of you who have followed this LJ for a few years may know that in the past I've participated in Blogathon twice. Once blogging for Elephant Sanctuary, where I drew fan art all 24 hours which were later raffled off to donors. Another year I blogged for Pasado's Safe Haven, and mostly blogged about goats the whole time. Well, alas, this year I will most likely NOT be participating, so instead will be making pledges to my friends and also various causes that catch my eye, whether or not I know the blogger. So, I would like to direct everybody's attention to my online friend morgi, who will be participating for the first time this year! Please read her post regarding this at her livejournal and tell me that ain't a cause worth supporting. To make this extra-awesome, she will be spending her 24 hours of fundraising doing a cross-stitch of one of my drawings (I won't tell you what, I'll leave that decision to morgi)! I'm pumped to see how it turns out, hehe.
Anybody else out there in LJ-land participating in Blogathon this year?? If I *do* end up participating as a blogger, I will make an announcement soonish. :B

12:55a muttering to myself
Well, it looked as if the weather was fairly nice outside today . . . except that I was lazy and lounged around inside with the windows open.
Running into a problem with the Library story. (This will only make sense if you've been reading it.) I want to have a scene at the Science Museum. I also want to get Bradamant going back from there to the British Library to try to return to the Library proper, so that everyone can have an encounter with Alberich there, but given that she could theoretically get back to the Library through any sufficiently bookish place, why should she bother to make the cross-London trip (and ensuing zeppelin chase) when she could probably find somewhere suitable much nearer?
Hm. Need a reason. (Or need a reason to move the final confrontation to the Science Museum, maybe, though that'd remove the zeppelin chase.)
I'm also looking forward to talking to coworkers tomorrow and finding out what they thought about the Torchwood finale. (I rather liked it.) Given that most of them are not particularly SF fans but were nevertheless interested in and watching the series, it'll be interesting to see how much they enjoyed the ending.

Footsteps
On an ebony bed decorated with coral eagles, sound asleep lies Nero --- unconscious, quiet, and blissful; thriving in the vigor of flesh, and in the splendid power of youth.
But in the alabaster hall that encloses the ancient shrine of the Aenobarbi how restive are his Lares. The little household gods tremble, and try to hide their insignificant bodies. For they heard a horrible clamor, a deathly clamor ascending the stairs, iron footsteps rattling the stairs. And now in a faint the miserable Lares burrow in the depth of the shrine, one tumbles and stumbles upon the other, one little god falls over the other for they understand what sort of clamor this is, they are already feeling the footsteps of the Furies.

10:29a Possible fanfic prologue...should I write it?
Most of you know me as 18-year-old Drosselmeyer, or "Ross", on the DR. In fact, that persona came from a fanfic that never went anywhere called Because She Bled Ink. I adapted Ross's backstory for the DR, and...it's really grown and changed in a good way because of that. I'm inspired to write another fanfic, using this backstory's plot.
It's called Stars With Tails of Fire and Dews of Blood, which I know is a mouthful. Think Tutu episodes, but angstier, with more writing, and using Shakespeare plays instead of classic ballet and fairytales as a jumping-off point.
Here I have for you a cover and the prelude, A Fault Not In The Stars. I'm looking for feedback as to whether I should continue writing, drop the project, what you'd like to see in the story, etc. Keep in mind the prelude takes place after the events, and the story itself is about Ross and Dale's Romeo-and-Juliet esque romance. As in, they fall quickly and stupidly in a love that's horrible for both and ends up killing about half the cast with them (although not because they can't bear to be without each other, but because they can't bear to be with each other). Star-crossed doesn't mean romantic, it means destined for doom. ( The cover here. )
Here's the prelude.

10:40p Fakir, HIStory... Michael Jackson challenge/tribute?
I don't know if this has been done already... but all the recent reflection about the late, great Michael got me thinking...
This is a request for your art (whether drawn, written, animated, etc) depicting your favorite Kinkan Town ballet academy students, and inspired by Michael Jackson. I would call it a challenge, and if there are any rules I should be aware of please let me know because I've never done this before!
If I was talented, I'd probably draw Fakir, Billie Jean style... but I'm not. So I hope some of you want to do this, and take this up. I'm really looking forward to the results!

1:37a a good day
York was very nice. Got some yarn, got some books, had lunch at Betty's, am now very tired.
It's raining outside. Good. That is, good because we need the rain, and good that it wasn't earlier while I was in York.

Wig help!!
I'm looking to cosplay as Ahiru/Tutu at AB'10 and I'm pretty sure I know what wig I'd want for Tutu, but I need help for Ahiru. No matter what, I'm gonna have to give it a cut to get the short top, get a pink wig and do a sharpie bath to get the orangish tint, but which of these do you think would work the best for Ahiru?
I'd be getting it in the plain pink color, see color here: http://www.cosworx.com/pages.php?pageid=5
Wig #1 http://www.cosworx.com/product.php?productid=16494&cat=2471&page=1
Wig #2 http://www.cosworx.com/product.php?productid=26307&cat=2495&page=1
For either one I'm going to have to cut for the short bit like I said, but:
Wig #1: style bangs differently, but long enough Wig #2: bangs are perfect, but not as long as I'd like.
D:
Which one, or do you have any other wig suggestions?
Also, any advice on the costume itself would be GREATLY appreciated. I don't sew at all so I'm definitely getting help, but any advice would be wondrous. :)
THANKS!!! - Rosel
